Atarah Okoa

What was
is not always gone

Atarah Okoa’s fiction explores memory and the coexistence of violence, care, and love, attending to the traces through which the past remains present.

Before devoting herself to literature, she pursued
postgraduate studies in neuroscience and
violence prevention, interests that continue to
find expression in her writing. She later studied
Creative Writing at the University of Cambridge.

She is currently at work on her first novel and
a work of non-fiction.
